How long have you been illustrating and what made you start?
I've been illustrating since 2010, I love drawing cartoon and anime characters until I explored other mediums such as charcoal pencils, watercolour, oil painting and now I'm practicing digital art. Right now, I'm focused on making conceptual paintings for exhibit and making my own conceptual colouring books because it makes me happy and it's my passion.
Where do you get your inspiration?
I was inspired when I was a child when I watched on television the show ART ANGEL where he taught a lot of basic drawings. In 2010 I was also inspired by the group of artists I attended here in the province of Laguna. That day I met a lot of great artists and they taught me different kinds of art and I was inspired a lot and here I am now and I will train more and more to hone my talent. My biggest inspiration right now is my daughter.
Where is your favourite place to illustrate?
My favourite place to illustrate is in my little studio where I can focus and think about what I'm doing. Sometimes I also want to draw in different places such as mountains, beaches, cities etc. And sometimes I also want to draw with my fellow artist friends here in the Philippines.
What are your illustrating/colouring material essentials?
The materials I use for colouring are colouring pencils, pastels, watercolour, acrylic and oil paint.
What’s the piece of work that you’re most proud of or enjoyed doing the most?
I am most proud and enjoy the art piece I made is Colouring Heaven Collection Santa's Workshop because it is my dream to have my illustration become a book and I am very proud because I was able to do this and I am very happy.
I am still learning how to colour, but the tips I can give is to learn the basics of colour like the Colour Wheel, so that you can apply it to your colouring of different types of art. And don't stop what you are doing especially if it is what you like and love.
