Maud Lamoine is a French illustrator with a passion for creating beautiful colouring designs focussed around fantasy, nature and powerful figures. She enjoys learning and practicing many different techniques. From watercolour to pastel, collage to Indian ink, she loves to combine techniques and use her art to learn and explore. Her greatest joy and pride is helping people to realise their dreams and ideas on paper.
How long have you been illustrating and what made you start?
As far as I can remember, I have always drawn. I come from a family where drawing and Art in general hold an important place. It is in drawing that I find my well-being and my balance.
Where do you get your inspiration?
I find my inspiration in the beauty of nature, the precious moments of life. I am a big dreamer, my drawings allow me to escape into magical worlds.
Where is your favourite place to illustrate?
I like to feel good when I draw and I need a peaceful place, my studio is a real little cocoon where I feel good and who looks like me, I also like to take a drawing pad during my walks in nature.
What are your illustrating/colouring material essentials?
I like to feel my fingers on the paper, the smell of my coloured pencils, the softness of pastel work and the fluidity of watercolour.
What’s the piece of work that you’re most proud of or enjoyed doing the most?
I could not say it, I think I like all the work that I have done, for their qualities, but also for their flaws which allow me to improve myself.
The only thing that matters in colouring is having fun! Not to be afraid to explore different techniques. Try, test, have fun Chess does not exist in the world of colouring, it is small stones that you put on the way to your progress.
