Colourists and art fans alike will know the coloured pencil brand Caran Dache but did you know that they have been helping a children’s charity? That’s right, as well as making some of our most loved pencils, they have been donating pencils and crayons to children in hospitals.
Caran Dache, creators of the well-loved Luminance coloured pencils, have donated colouring pencils to Fondation Planètes Enfants Malades (Children’s Planet Foundation) who work every day to improve the wellbeing of the 4,500 children and teenagers hospitalized in the Lausanne University Hospital. Caran Dache said “We hope that our crayons will bring a little color into the daily lives of hospitalized children during this time of lockdown, during which there are no longer fun activities and visits are limited to those of their parents.” The Lausanne University Hospital offers various activities to children such as music, storytelling and sports. They support the children and their families throughout their stay in hospital and they also provide support to disadvantaged families.
